2017
Debbie Hamilton

Debbie has been the secretary of the Castlemaine Show for 30 yrs. She was awarded a DSA for her promotion of the Clydesdale breed by organising the Castlemaine Mare, Filly and Foal show annually in April.

Rod Kilgour

Rod has been a long standing dedicated supporter of the Victorian Branch of the CCHS. Rod has researched and provided many articles for the Vic Branch Yearbook. Also for a number of years Rod has volunteered his talent as a commentator at various Clydesdale events such as the Royal Melbourne Show and teaming up with Andrew Lavis at the National Clydesdale & Heavy Horse Festival.

Graeme Marriott

Graeme received his award at the AGM for long standing service to the promotion of the Clydesdale horse by keeping the Clydesdale classes going at Dandenong show and for instigating the Clydesdale foal show at the Scottish Heritage day held each May.

Rob Lakin

Rob was awarded a DSA at the 2016 AGM for his dedication to photographing Clydesdales on show (over 30 years) at the Royal Melbourne Show as well as our Foal show and Heavy Horse Festival. Rob has supplied the CCHS Vic branch with a visual history.

2015
Colin, Tara and Trudi Cox

The Cox Family were presented a DSA at the 2015 Castlemaine Foal Show for initiating the CCHS Vic Branch Yearbook in 1994 producing 21 annual year books before retiring from the role as editor in 2014.

Thelma Ronzio

Thelma was awarded a DSA for her contribution and commitment over the past 23 years as promotions officer. Thelma organised our merchandise, attending as many clydesdale related events as possible to promote the  Clydesdale and help keep our branch in a positive financial position.

Distinguished Service Award of the Victorian Branch CCHS

This award is an acknowledgement bestowed on members and also non-members who have contributed significantly to the promotion of the Clydesdale and the Victorian Branch of the Commonwealth Clydesdale Horse Society. Victorian Branch members may nominate a person deemed to be worthy of the award. 

Criteria for Distinguished Service Award

  • Contribution of nominee over what period of time?
  • Service to promotional activities
  • Service to Members such as:
    • Adjudication
    • Field Days
    • Exhibition Involvement
    • Mentoring Roles
    • Knowledge of the CCHS

The nomination including the nominees resume, should be forwarded to the Victorian Branch Secretary for consideration by the Victorian Branch committee or at the AGM.
